Why one should write !
I think writing is very cool. It seems simple and easy , but it’s not. Remember writing your school’s english paper writing section , one always “wrote their best” but most of scored very average marks. Reason?! well teachers said…”ain’t enough contextual to the question asked”, “exceeded the word limit”, “no structure to the essay”…blah blah.
Exactly , the point i’m trying to make. Writing requires thinking before putting something on the paper.
Why to write ?
Because it requires one to think , solidify their thought in head before putting out, help themselves reason hard and think through (quoting richard fayeman, “what i cannot explain, i do not understand”), you’re constantly thinking ahead and making decisions in your head about stuff you write etc.
Why i , myself, should write more?
Because it’s a great way for me learn , putting my thoughts across in a very concise and lucid manner. Personnely speaking, due to nature of work and other involvements, most of my time goes into reading, understanding things, trying to explain it in simple terms …i think writing will very help me in getting this done for me.
Think about things i can write about :-
- My analysis of companies like a16z people do
- About any random thought/musing/idea that i have had and been bugging me for some time, which i better “put it out there”.Maybe..travelogue type ..meaning cool places i traveled, cool stuff i did etc.
- Review of any article, book , essay, start-ups, technologies, businesses etc.
- My thoughts about various investments i am trying to make
